Rockland Women's Show

Rockland Women's Show is coming again on Saturday June 11 from 9 - 4 at the Riverrock Inn! Be sure to stop by my booth! Thought I was offering one? Sorry no.  Just discussing the value of one.

Let's see - what do you get?

• A professional photographer taking your picture
• Usually a Facebook edition, or a 5x7 print or maybe even an 8x10

What do I get:

• Images that I can use for specific promotions or to refresh my portfolio (but only for a limited time as it has to stay fresh)

What does it "cost" you?

• Maybe an hour of your time for the session
• Another hour for the reveal
• Some time spent communicating with me to figure out what you are to bring
• If I've missed something please let me know.

What does it "cost" me?

• A few days of designing the promo
• A few days for designing the set
• Time spent planning the session
• All the time I spend communicating with each person that inquires the details of the offer
• The time I spend, after confirming participation, discussing what to wear with each person
• Time spent designing documents to help them figure out what to bring/wear
• An hour at least pre-shoot to set up
• Refreshments that I usually provide
• My shooting time
• My time spent editing the images (8 hours or more)
• My time during the reveal to help you choose which you like the most or helping you figure out what you want to order.
• Preparing the files for your order
• Packaging and providing care instructions for your products.
• On top of all this you have the usual costs of running a business

Now with that laid out there, does it make sense for me to jeopardize my name and my career and my business by using your images in a derogatory manner? Do you think I'm going to choose poor pictures to use in my advertising after all the work I've done to acquire them?

Oh and by the way, all that I do above is done for every client that I have. Now have a look at what I do and what I charge and what I create for you.

Model Call....

I'm looking for a model for a cake smash..... however, you have to be an adult... yes you read right!!! I'm looking for an adult model to do a cake smash!!!


I hope to find at least one guinea pig..... Ummmm..... I mean...... fabulous volunteer from amoung you all...but if you feel one of your friends might be PERFECT for this, please forward on to them!

Family Photography

I absolutely love it when I get a family to come in, and I help them capture how special they all are!

Here is a family that came in to celebrate their newest arrival.  They were so wonderful to work with! 

They were referred to me by a member from the Clarence Rockland Photography Club. 

 

Outing with the Photography Club

Last Sunday I enjoyed time with some of the wonderful photographers from the Clarence Rockland Photography Club.  We went to the Sand Road Maple Farm - which I highly recommend! In addition to a picturesque landscape, we met some wonderful people and I found a new prop (which I'm going back for on Thursday!). #sandroadmaplefarm

Family Fall Sessions

I've been forgetting to post these for a while now, but I'm finally getting around to it!

Fantastic Fall Family Fun Session

November 11th and the Holidays

I know some people may have the opinion that anything holiday related prior to November 11 is disrespectful.  As a military wife I can understand that opinion completely. However, for custom portraits that you hope to send out to loved ones as your holiday card, getting a head start is essential! 

What if you all of a sudden can't make your session time? What if at your session, your child decides to have a bad day so you need to reschedule? Time is still needed for you to see your completed images, pick the ones you want and the design, then wait for them to arrive from the printer - let's say an additional 4 weeks.

If you book and get in today, you will receive your cards during the first week of December. Now you have to stuff the envelopes and mail them out. 

Even with everything being smooth sailing, it's a tight schedule!

In the end, we at least will be closed on November 11th.  It is one day that I have always insisted that I have off.  I attend a ceremony each year - usually the one where my husband is on parade. I hope this year to see some of you, my wonderful clients and friends there with us.
